Radiographic grid एक ऐसा device है जो scatter radiation को absorb करता है और thus image contrast को improve करता है।

📌 जब X-ray beam patient के body से pass होती है, तो scatter radiation produce होती है, जिससे image पर fogging और contrast में कमी हो जाती है।

📌 Grid में alternating strips होते हैं — radiopaque material (जैसे lead) और radiolucent material (जैसे aluminum या plastic fiber)।

📌 Grids का use खासकर thicker body parts (जैसे abdomen, pelvis) की imaging में किया जाता है, जहाँ scatter ज्यादा होता है।

⚖️ Drawback: Grid use करने पर ज्यादा radiation dose देना पड़ता है (grid ratio बढ़ने पर dose भी बढ़ता है), ताकि proper image density मिल सके।
