Automatic Exposure Control
AEC एक automatic system है जो X-ray exposure को खुद terminate कर देता है जब detector पर required radiation dose पहुँच जाती है।
How it works:
- AEC में ionization chambers या solid-state detectors use होते हैं।
जैसे ही पर्याप्त radiation detector पर पहुँचती है, exposure अपने आप बंद हो जाता है।
यह consistent image density और quality maintain करने में मदद करता है।
Advantages:
हर patient में अलग-अलग body thickness के बावजूद uniform exposure मिलता है।
Patient dose को unnecessary extra exposure से बचाता है।
Technique errors को reduce करता है।
Clinical Use:
Chest, abdomen, pelvis जैसे बड़े areas में commonly use किया जाता है, जहाँ manual mAs selection tricky होता है। इसके अलावा Memmography में भी AEC का उपयोग film पर Radiographic Density को control करने के लिए किया जाता है ।
